Fan art
Birthday party invitations from my kids (and occasionally from co-workers or their kids) gave me multiple opportunities to create fan art. This way I could 'taste' those other styles (and learn something new again) and the children were very happy with it.
Sometimes I feel the urge to draw a famous character.
Birthday parties with our family and friends gave me the opportunity to do this every now and then.
Here I've thrown some together for the project thumbnail of this ArtStation post.
Asterix and Obelix are very popular with us.

(I've also drawn him several times on our New Year's menu cards, but they have been lost over time.)

Garfield! Also a well-known newspaper cartoon character in Flanders!
Thomson and Thompson, Captain Haddock and Tintin are world famous Belgian cartoon characters.
And Pinocchio! He is also very well known everywhere.
(But most don't know his little friend's name I guess - his name is Jiminy Cricket) :-)
